recognizes ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ as a leader in literacy education and advocating for intellectual freedom. The resolution released today, and the timing coincides with Banned Books Week, September 22-28, 2024.
ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ and its members have been leaders in the fight against censorship since the early 1950s. Through the Intellectual Freedom Center, ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ has continued to update its book rationale catalog into a searchable database, which now contains over 1,300 book rationales, exploring the importance of diverse perspectives in books. This is the third consecutive year ÀóÖ¦ÊÓƵ was named as a best practice.
